First rule of emailing your resume...avoid attachments. I know it sounds crazy, because your resume is so nicely formatted with bold and italics, but here's the truth: recruiters and hiring managers HATE attachments. They have to worry about viruses, and it takes more time to click on the attachment, launch the application that's going to read it, etc. So always always always paste your resume in the email, with a nice short note on why you like the company, why you would be great for their business and all your contact information. This simple tip alone could get you more calls.
