Women read this! Here's some advice I read for helping women advance at work. Because apparently we're pretty even-stevens from kindergarten all the way through college and entry level jobs with the boys but then something happens. When it comes to landing a corner office or executive title, what counts a lot more than conscientiousness is daring, assertiveness and the ability to promote oneself - all qualities men more typically demonstrate.
So the advice here is ask for what you think you deserve, negotiate hard, be daring, promote yourself, and don't back down.
